Jennifer L. Bartlett, Vocal Director |
Jennifer is an alumnus of Albert Einstein High School where she was an active thespian and musician. She performed in several shows including: Anything Goes, The Music Man, The Reluctant Dragon, The Odd Couple, and Brigadoon. She is a recent graduate of Elon University in North Carolina where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education. At Elon, Jennifer was a Music Theory/Ear Training tutor, a student voice teacher, and a Scholar in the Arts and Humanities. She completed her student teaching at Southern Alamance High School where she taught three choirs and two theatre classes. Jennifer plays the piano and guitar, but her real passion lies in the art of singing. Over the summer, she keeps herself busy as a camp counselor at Creative Summer where she teaches music classes. In the fall, she looks forward to beginning her teaching career with Montgomery County Public Schools. |
Cecilia Bellagamba, Stage Manager |
Cecilia is glad to be WST's Stage Manager this summer. She is 17 years old, attends Atholton High School, and this is her 4th summer with WST. Last year, she was the Assistant Stage Manager. Her previous experience in other theatres includes Stage Manager, Master Carpenter, Technical Director, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, and random crew. |
Liz Bullock, Director of Fundraising |
Liz is currently a junior at Walter Johnson High School, where she has participated in numerous productions. Most recently, she was seen in Pippin, playing Catherine onstage and publicity crew chief offstage. This is her third season with WST, having previously appeared in Sugar and Singin' in the Rain, for which she also served as a props designer. She hopes this will be a fun and exciting summer-yay! |
Nathaniel Claridad, Director |
This is Nathaniel's 3rd season with Wildwood Summer Theatre. This past year he has been seen on the University of Maryland stage alongside Johnny Holiday in The Music Man, directed by Helen Hayes award winner Nick Olcott. Next year, he will appear as Mr. Kirby in You Can't Take It With You, directed by John Vreeke, who previously produced the hit tv series Northern Exposure. Other favorite roles include Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You (Gary Sullivan), Fashion (T. Tennyson Twinkle), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Demetrius), Pippin (The Leading Player), and Godspell (Jesus). |
Anh Dang, Assistant Stage Manager |
Anh is currently a junior at Walter Johnson High School, where she has built sets, been on running crew, and been assistant stage manager. She will be turning 17 in June. This is her third show with WST. Last year, she was floor manager for Singin' in the Rain. Anh wants to be your friend. Anh has the most exciting bio ever! Only not |
Lauren Beth DeRocco, Choreographer |
Lauren Beth just finished her sophomore year at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. She's a double major in History and Italian Studies, with a possible minor in Dance & Music. Next year, she'll be heading abroad to Bologna, Italy to study and have a blast--she's very excited. This summer is her 4th year with WST, during which she'll be making everyone sweat as Choreographer. In past seasons, she's been in the cast, designed hair, makeup, and costumes, and, last summer, took on the mammoth job of Producing. This summer also commences her third year as a tenured member of the board, a position which she very much enjoys. She hopes that everyone is looking forward to dancing this season as much as she is! |
Harry Glaser, Sound Designer |
This is Harry's first summer with Wildwood. He has just completed his junior year at Walter Johnson High School, where he was the sound guy for Wait Until Dark, Kiss Me Kate, Romeo and Juliet, and Pippin. Previous to that, he did an assortment of crew things for A Midsummer Night's Dream and Cabaret, including some time building sets and some time as Assistant Stage Manager. He hopes to be teaching at TIC Summer Camp during the daytimes this summer. Please remember to pay Harry the proper amount of respect if you want the audience to hear you. If you wish to make a donation to the worthy Harry Needs Money fund, don't hesitate to inquire within. |
Jared Goldstein, Set Designer |
Jared is a senior at the Bullis School, and next year he will be attending the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. This is his second summer with WST. Last year, he served as Master Carpenter for Singin' in the Rain. |
Branden K. Jacobs-Jenkins, Assistant Director |
As of June 7, assuming that Branden actually passed French 4 and AP Bio, he will be a St. John's College High School graduate and attending Princeton University next fall. There he plans to study Comparative Literature as an excuse to take creative writing classes with Joyce Carol Oates, do a lot of crappy improv, and, overall, be better a person than a certain Yale-attending Prop Designer. But he is technically a better person than four out of every five protists, bacteria, and archaebacteria. This will be his third summer of pseudo-involvement with WST and his first summer of actually being able to stay the entire time. During auditions, he will probably just sit and watch you in order to make humorously rash but occasionally positive generalizations about you and your talent once you leave the room-just to bring a little joy into the hearts of everyone else on the board. But over the course of the actual summer, he will be aiding the director with the performance aspects of the show. While at SJC, Branden was heavily active with St. John's Theatre, having been involved in nearly a dozen performances. He was most recently seen as Pseudolus in the spring musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. You will never know what the 'K' in his middle name stands for. Ever. Also, Branden is more afraid of Nathan Claridad than you are. But don't let that discourage you. |
Denise Levitan, Props Designer |
Denise (known to her friends as "Dense" or "SuperDense") is very ready to graduate from Walter Johnson High School and go on to Yale University in New Haven, CT, where she will probably study something engineering-related (and have a much more fulfilling life than a certain Princeton-bound assistant director). At WJ, Denise did a variety of backstage jobs, from building and painting sets to playwrighting to stage managing. This is her third summer with WST; she was in crew for Sugar and played clarinet in the pit for Singin' in the Rain. This spring, Denise served as WST's director of recruitment, so she hopes that some of you are here today through her efforts, which also include this information board. This show is her first experience doing props, and she's excited about it. She warns you ahead of time to not mess with props that aren't yours. As of now, her lazy summer days will be spent sleeping in, but she may find a job. |
Harrison Charles Long, Technical Director |
Harrison is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in Graphic Design. This is his third year with WST. As Technical Director, Harrison is in charge of the entire crew, so if you suck up early you'll get in his good graces. A word of warning, though, do not look Harrison directly in the eyes, as this may set him off into a psychotic rage. Harrison is here to help, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. |
Jason Nellis, Director of Public Relations |
Jason (known to friends as "Nellis" and "The Kid Whose Mom Was In Playboy") just finished his senior year at Walter Johnson High School, and is headed to Northwestern University (which is infinitely better than the University of Chicago) in Evanston, Illinois. He plans on being a theater major and continuing to work his tail off for an unattainable dream: an excuse not to face reality. Jason has held a number of jobs in theater (mostly acting, but has also directed, produced, worked on crew, designed programs, and managed websites), and is enjoying taking a somewhat backseat position this summer as the advertising guy. During last year's production of Singin in the Rain, Jason portrayed a gay hairdresser with fabled WST member Steve Szabo. While you won't find him onstage making a stereotypical ass of himself, you will find him to be corny and strange, but lovable. Also, he gives the best massages EVER. Ask any female cast member from Singin' in the Rain. |
Joshua Rodgers, Makeup and Hair Designer |
Josh is a graduate of Park View High School in Sterling, VA. He is now a theatre education major at East Carolina University. This is his fifth show with WST, where he has acted and worked on crew, last year as technical director. |
Kelly Theim, Producer |
Kelly is a rising junior at Amherst College in Amherst, Mass. and is coming back to WST this year for her 4th summer. Those of you who know her know that she's ecstatic about the show this season--West Side Story is far and away her favorite musical, and she has really high expectations for it that she knows we'll fulfill! Kelly first got involved in WST through crew--having participated in stage crew during high school at Walter Johnson, a friend suggested WST as a way for her to keep on doing it through the summer months (and meet some wicked cool people in the process). It was one of the best decisions she's ever made. WST gives you the opportunity take part in the responsibility of launching a full-scale musical without "adults" getting in the way--at least she doesn't typically like to admit that she's an adult. It provides an exciting type of cooperation and creation that she hasn't found anywhere else. Kelly is thrilled to get to know all of you whom she hasn't met yet and welcome those of you who are returning! |
Cynthia Trevor, Business Manager & Associate Producer |
Cynthia Trevor proudly plays the part of business manager for her fourth year in WST and second year as parlimentarian of the WST board of directors. She's trying to relax this summer, now that school is out at the University of Maryland, College Park. She'll return as a junior communications major and live in her sorority house! Yay for Greek life!! Somewhere in between her job as a director for a city of Rockville camp and WST, she'll be going to conventions, shopping, and hanging out with old and new friends. She hopes to lead WST to a plentiful summer and have a great time hanging out with everyone involved. |
William White, Music Director, Conductor, and Associate Producer |
William White is embarking on his fourth summer with Wildwood Summer Theatre. Starting out as a lowly violist/violinist in WST pit orchestra during Guys and Dolls, Maestro White worked his way up through the ranks, being appointed assistant conductor for Sugar, and then Music Director for Singin' in the Rain. At his alma mater, Walter Johnson High School, he conducted Cabaret and Kiss Me, Kate. At WJHS, Maestro White also served as conductor of the String Orchestra, and assistant conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra as well as the Madrigal Choir. In June 2001, he conducted these groups in the world premiere of his Symphony in D minor. Maestro White currently resides in Chicago, Illinois, where he is a student at the University of Chicago, studying music composition. He has been named assistant conductor of the U of C Motet Choir, Dr. Randolph von Ellefson, conductor, in which capacity he will conduct Benjamin Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb next year on the choir's tour of California. He was also named as the assistant conductor of the Gilbert and Sullivan Company of Chicago, Steven Huang, music director, 2002 production. On May 31st, Maestro White will premiere his latest work, a quartet for 2 clarinets, cello, and piano. |
